Civic Instrument Cluster Replacement

Civic Instrument Cluster Replacement
I have a 2001 Civic DX , Manual Trans. The instrument cluster does not have a Tach, and I was wondering what instrument cluster would be compatible to the 2001 Civic DX, so I can get a Tach without having one mounted on the dash. I found some on ebay, but I do not want to buy something that doesnt work. I found an SI cluster, but I am not sure if it wil fit. I do not have to have anything fancy, just want to have a tach with my instruments. I would like someone to direct me in the right direction. Thanks for your help.

Re: Civic Instrument Cluster Replacement
Not sure the FAQ is clear enough on this.
Even if you have a DX, your car is wired for a tachometer. You can simply swap in a cluster from another car so equipped (EX or LX). Bear in mind, though, the mileage on the car is stored on the cluster itself, not the PCM.

If you get one with ABS you may have to cut the diode as it will be lit. Nippon Seiki clusters out of coupes are the most reliable, stay away from Visteon made clusters, unless you have to have green/white illumination. My 2001 sedan I converted to an orange coupe illumination, loved it.

Re: Civic Instrument Cluster Replacement
yeah if your not going to answer the guys question why bother to even respond, telling somone to use search is kinda like a slap in the face, if that thing actually worked then there wouldnt be a point of having a forum.......
the search feature only answers so many GENERAL questions it doesnt asnwer alot of things. i;ve been on many forums and so many times the search feature is crap you get so much misc info its really hard to get the SPECIFIC info you actually need so just a suggestion instead of telling somone to use the search feature maybe you should either help them find info or just have a nice cup of C[STFU]
thank you,
i think i speak for all the people whos ever got the use search feature answer when posting a new thread on this forum,or for any forum really
i still have the same question does the lx ex fit the dc 2001 civics can anyone CONFIRM!!!??? haha dont wanna waste money buygin one if the thing is not going to fit.
also the hybrid anyone swap the hybrid one yet?
maybe somone should try to make a compatiblity cluster sticky that would be SWEET~

Search + cluster = https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/gauge-cluster-question-2467523/ half way down Page 1 of the search results. It took all of two minutes to search, browse the results and find that page. That's why we encourage searching. However, this question has been answered already. I guess you just wanted some attention.

Ironic choice of opening lines, hypocrite. You didn't answer the OP's question, either. You settled with complaining. Thanks for joining Honda-Tech.

Im pretty sure any EX or LX cluster from a 7th gen will fit. As I understand it, some are plug-and-play installs but you will probably have to re-pin your connectors. It's fairly simple just follow the write up in the FAQ. I just swapped out an 04 EX cluster in my 05 VP and it works perfectly.
