Default car stereo installation, now stuff not working

honda civic 2001. i have not look at the car so i do not know specific details but will update you guys when i do get a chance to see the car. my friend said he installed an aftermarket head unit(cd player) and one of the wires spark. and he said now both stock oem radio and aftermarket cd player does not work. i told him to check the fuse, and he said he replace it but it still does not work and he said now the car will not lock. it will lock if you manually turn the key to lock the doors, but all bottons and remote will not activate it to lock. just now he just told me the interior lights is not working either. he will bring the car over when he gets out of work so i dont know what he has or has not done, but does anyone know what could be happening? has anyone ever had this kind of problem before? thanks and any inputs is greatly appreciated.

let him check that fuse first, that's the main fuse on the mentioned sub line if that's ok I want him to know exactly which function/s are not working. from there we can work with the trouble shooting till the last circuit.

This message is for Jivi(its for u cause im hoping u have a 2001 fuse diagram for me about the datalink connector) or anyone who has had a problem with their Data link connector to get the smaog check done.

first let me start by saying i love my Honda and i take very good care of it and this is my first year smogging it for some reason the connector(data link) is dead the smog computer and my connector will not function its becoming a nightmare I immediately went to the dealer and they trying to rip me off cause my warranty expired it had 8yrs or 80,000 miles.

Like i told u guys before i love my car and i drive it everywhere so much that i went over the warrany(98,000) when i bought it had 41,000 miles so i've had it for bout 3yrs and put over 50,000 miles

So i'm here sharing my bad experience of my data link not working like it should so i can get it smog so please if u have any suggestions or had the sane problem happne to u let me know.

Hope u guys can help another Honada Lover.

Thnx
