I am replacing the a/c compressor on my new project '01 Civic. The new compressor I got instructed me to empty the shipping oil out of the compressor and refill with manuf. recommended oil. I got 80mls of oil out of new compressor. I got 30mls of oil out of the old compressor. Then the manual instructs to subtract old comp. volume (30 mls) from 130 mls = 100 mls. Then pour out that amount from new compressor, which I only got 80 mls. This is very confusing and I want to get the right amount in this new compressor. I'm thinking ~50mls, 25 in each side???

The next paragraph in the manual:



It's kind of misleading, it should just say "Do not remove more than 50mls from the new compressor."

Well in this case the instructions with new compressor are to drain oil and replace with manuf required amount.

You need to have 30mls in the new compressor when you install it.
