I have read quite a few threads indicating that the 7th gen civic was notorious for bad motor mounts and the usual symptom displayed is a shaky idle. However, my car is displaying other problems, such as the car shakes when the engine is under load. For example, going on the highway cruising along at 60mph and putting my foot down on the gas, the car will shake but will stop as soon as i am off the gas. Shaking is more or less at all speeds (less at lower speeds) but it's related to the gas pedal. When i am on gas, the car will shake. Could this be related to engine mounts? I have also read about the possibility of bad drive shafts. Can anyone comment?

sounds like speed wobble due to unbalance wheels or a bend in one of the wheels...take it to a wheel shop and have them balance each wheel and ask if they can find which wheel is bent

It's not a bend wheel as this happens to both my summer and winter tires. Plus, shaking is only experienced when i am on the gas, once i am off, the car cruises smooth like silk.

A vibration that is evident only upon acceleration is usually caused by a bad inner CV joint. You'll need to replace one or both of the axles to eliminate it.

Do NOT use remanufactured axles from a chain parts store. 90% of them are bad straight out of the box. Use only Honda reman axles or new aftermarket axles like Raxles, Mevotech, EMPI, FEQ, etc.

Cool! Is there a way to test it to see if it's really a bad inner CV joint?
