Need help figuring out Kswap cost!
I've been searching for awhile now for a up to date cost on all the misc. parts need for a k24 swap into an em2, but I've had no luck.
What have you guys been paying for the parts required in a kswap, not including motor or trans? If someone could give me an approximate idea of what they spent that would be awesome!!
I'm prob gonna go k24a, with a 5spd.

Well, seeing as you didn't mention what type of K24 you're interested in, it's going to be tough to guess exactly what you'll be expecting to pay.
As for the engine itself, you didn't specify if it's a long block, if it had all the wiring, or anything truly specific. Because those costs can sway the overall total, it's a tough call there as well. You also didn't specify if you were going to keep things like power steering or air conditioning. Both require custom parts to work properly, but can both be still maintained.
Figure these costs in regardless, unless you're excellent with fabrication:
Hondata K-Pro - $1,200
Engine mounts - $550
Sub-harness - $350
Axles - $150+
Exhaust work - $100+ (huge variance here, as you didn't specify if you were going to go a custom exhaust route)
You could add $2,000 or more to the costs, if you don't have wiring or accessories.

$5299.00 for a K20a type-r not including exhaust or labor: http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30014
They also have a K20A2 changeover for $4000.00.

Re: Need help figuring out Kswap cost!
I'm doing my kswap on a budget, a bit of an oxymoron I know.
K24a or k24a4 with a 5 speed, hoping I can get a complete swap
I'm planning on picking up everything I can used, either junk yard or ebay to save on cost. I'd like to keep power steering and ac. I don't plan on going k-pro upfront, I'll add that later. I just need a rough idea what I'm going to put into this..
I'm mainly swapping now because my auto trans is going..

Since you won't be going with the K-Pro up-front, you'd be better off with a 2 liter engine. K-Pro ECU's start off life as K20-series ECU's. The K24's come with different engine harnesses, charge harnesses, and dash harnesses. The wiring will not be compatible with K-Pro, going forward. You'd have to change the wiring again, just to use K-Pro.
You're also looking at a custom line kit in order to retain your A/C. Hybrid Racing makes one. You can fabricate some sort of mount to relocate your Power Steering reservoir, and you can use the pressure line from an RSX to get fluid to the rack. You would just need to make a custom return line.
A cheaper K-swap will definitely be the K20A3. It's by far the cheapest swap for the 7th Generation Civics.
PS. There's no such thing as a K24A. There's a K24A1, K24A2, K24A4, and K24A8.
PPS. Most everything you need answered was in the FAQ's, with exception to the differences from K20-series to K24-series engines.

Re: Need help figuring out Kswap cost!
Thanks, I'm new to swaps, so I'm still trying to get everything sorted out in my mind.
I'll go with the k20a3 if thats the least expensive route. The clutch pedal assembly, clutch master clylinder, shift box and trim can all come from an 7th gen civic, I just need the rsx shift cables right?
