2003 Civic LX Thumping Noise while Turning Clockwise
Techs-
I have Honda Civic 2003 LX(AT) it gives thumping or Chirping sound while turning steering clockwise during turns or on a speed bump.
Sound comes from the Driver side and I believe its close to the wheel area.
Is there a Bushing there? or any joint??
I am new to Civic any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks-
FS

Thumping/clunking on turns is one symptom of a failed inner CV joint. Go to step 14 here https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/faq-axle-replacement-tutorial-pics-382416/ for a photo of what you need to seek under the car. The rubber accordion boot with the larger steel cup, located inboard and not outboard, is the inner CV joint. If possible, put the front on jackstands and inspect around the inner CV joints' boots. If grease is coming out of them, that is another sign of a bad inner CV joint. Then start the car in neutral, turn the wheels, observe the joint.
Also the motor mounts are known for early failure on this generation of Civics.

had the same problem with the car, i put the car up in the air and ended up being my lower control arm bushing, the horizontal one. its pretty easy to replace.

Concur in particular with checking the lower control arm (lca) bushings, also known as "compliance bushings." They are also known for early failure on this generation. They are pretty easy to check visually and then by putting on jackstands, turning wheels, etc.
