I recently bought a civic for my daughter. The compressor clutch only engages on when I bypass the relay directly at the under hood fuse box and I have the compressor fan wired directly to the battery. When the compressor clutch is engaged there is cold air blowing. With the a/c button is on (light green on), all relay's are in and all connections attached; the compressor fan fails to come on and the compressor clutch does not engage. Do I have a bad a/c button or does this sound like a different problem?

I have tested all relays with a ohm meter and direct battery power and they test good.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Please, I need some advice.

When I jump the AC compressor relay and the condenser fan relay in the under hood fuse box (pin1 to pin 4);ac button on; compressor clutch is engaged and the condenser fan is running) cold air is blowing in the car. Replace the relays and the ac clutch nor condenser fan comes on.

I have purchased some aftermarket fuse relays and tried to replace the existing relays as well as have used the horn relay with appears to be the same relay without any response of either the condenser fan nor the ac clutch.

Could it be that I have 2 bad relays and the aftermarket relays are junk?
