2002 civic ex stereo wiring diagram. Help please!!!!
I'm trying to help a friend install a new deck in his '02 civic ex, but all the wiring diagrams I have come across online are inconsistent and have wires that do not correspond with the wires in the stock harness. I was wondering if any of you happen to have a factory manual that you could use to write down the wire colors and what they go to for me?
Here are all the wires in the factory harness:
Yellow w/ red stripe
Black
White
Pink
Blue w/ yellow stripe
Yellow w/ green stripe
Blue w/ black stripe
Blue w/ white stripe
Red w/ black stripe
Red
Grey w/ red stripe
White w/ red stripe
Green w/ yellow stripe
Green w/ black stripe
Thanks!!!
I also posted this in the audio thread, but figured that I might have a better chance of coming across someone with a factory manual in here

Is there even enough wire length in the harness to be able to make the connections after cutting the harness? Some of the cars I've dealt with were so short, I had a heck of a time even just connecting the adapter plug.

Just go to best buy and purchase one of their harnesses, and it comes with a text diagram telling you what the orange wire goes to, what the blue one goes to, same with green, red, black, grey.. blah blah, etc, etc..... just make a copy of it or something and take it back. or you can ask them if they have a diagram and they might just give you one... they tend to be real chill about stuff.

I agree with the gentleman who suggested buying the harness connector. Walmart usually has them in stock near me and they are honestly VERY cheap or worst case you have to wait a few days on Amazon to deliver it. Everyone has their own preferences and this is my opinion. Sometimes you don't have a choice, because someone already opted to not buy the adapter, which may be the situation here. I have done a radio install without purchasing the adapter for the harness on my first stereo install in my 1990 Mustang GT and I am not an expert, but I always try to keep wiring as unmodified as possible in any vehicle I own. I do this for two reason. First reason I do this is because it is easier to solder+heat shrink the wires on the connector you purchase to your new radios wiring harness while you have plenty of light to check the solder joints while also having the convenience of air conditioning and a nice work space to work diligently on the project. Then you just plug everything in hassle free once you're in the car. Second reason would be that you might have to replace the radio down the line or end of selling the car to someone that does and it's never fun running into a wiring mystery when you thought installing the radio would be a plug and play situation. I have run into my fair share of electrical tape, duct tape, poorly crimped connectors etc. Glad the OP figured it out though.
