05 Dx Vp Possible Limp Mode?
Whats going on fellas, i have an 05 civic Dx Vp (Coupe) with a manual transmission. Last week on my way home from work, my car just started failing. It started jolting and suddenly lost its engine power and the temperature gauge shut off (reading no temperature) the battery icon blinked once, and from there on, it has been unfortunate. I got home, luckily for me, but not so lucky for the car. I turned it off and started it. It turns over but takes a good amount of time to start. Once on, the green key light starts flashing, and the temp gauge still does not read. It idles like crap, and if driven, a burnt metallic smell becomes present. And once again, the engine does not have the power. 1st gear goes up to 10mph, 2nd gear goes up to 20mph and so on i have tried scanning it with an O'Reilly ob2 scanner but it does not communicate with the ECM, im guessing it is the problem is coming from the ECM itself. But does anybody have any idea what has occurred? I could really use the expertise please. Thank you for your time, and have a good day.

that yellow stuff looks like flux from the solder, the shiny metallic things. basicly the part(s) is'nt stuffed (installed on) on the board from the factory. look at the board both front and back for any black spots, damaged components, or burned traces. also smelling the board for a burned smell will narrow down a area to look in. i would also plug in the bare board in the car and check if any of the parts are extremely hot. there may not be any visual damage but if the part gets hot very quick then there's internal damage.

I checked the ignition coils and spark plugs earlier today. Gas has not been burned properly by the looks of it and coils 2 & 3 smell like crude gasoline.

All the wires have good current. Although the DLC to ECM wire is flowing 4.4v, should i be concerned about that? Also, I replaced the ECM and i can now connect to it with a simple scanner. The vehicle turns over but wont start. I am guessing i have to take it to Honda to get the ECM reprogrammed now?
