I was reading my super street magazine and I saw something funny. There was an ad for some kind of wheels, but it had LJ Garcia Standing sideways. And on the bottom of the page it says, "LJ GARCIA... IMPORT LEGEND". WTF. Only because he had a riced out CIVIC Hatch. What do you guys think about that?

Honestly, you can't really blame the guy for doing what he did. He makes money off his car, he has parts that I could never afford. Sure, his car is overdone and a little bit ricey... but hey that is his car. You can't tell me that when you first saw it, you weren't like "WTF is that?" Remember, that thing still has an H22, and it used to have a Drag III. It could be fast if it wanted to. It is honestly a nice car in a LJ kind of way. But why post about him, is somebody gay?

The only people that can really judge LJ Garcia are the people that know him personally. A lot of people may not like the way his car looks, but a person's car doesn't reflect a person's personallity.

LJ Garcia's car does what it was built to do, win shows. He was one of the first people to sport the Feels Widebody EK body kit. Then all of a sudden it became a popular kit, God knows why, it's absolutely horrendous. Now he has his own line of wheels, KMC. One of the wheel designs looks like a cheese grater. I'd have to say he's one of the few notorious "Import Car Show" moogles.

well, i feel that anyone with money can do whatever they want...not meaning that hes a cool guy or anything...but if i had the money he did, or as a matter of fact if any of you guys did to, youd be able to make the same car he did, its not like hes some genius or something, he didnt revolutionize the import world, he just hopped up a car using all the popular items...anyone could have done it...and hopefully made it look a little better than he did...i think my only problem with him is the way he carries himself, ive seen him in pictures and at shows, he acts like a tuff *** gangster...whatever...not like that has anything to do with anyhting, just my opinion...i guess hes "keepin' it real" right?? haha

Well, although I do not know him personally, I have seen him at shows. I have heard things he has said at shows. He is an arrogant, pompous, malnourished, wanna be thug. He treats his "fans" like . He thinks he should win every show he is in.

Now onto his car. It is ugly. It looks like a cross breeding of Darth Vaders helmet, and Tweety Bird. He has enough flake in the paint to make a MasterCraft bass boat jealous. He has an intercooler, but no turbo. I don't care if he used to have one, he doesn't now. Remove the intercooler dumbass. Or is that front bumper to heavy for your 110lb *** to lift off to get to the IC?

On the serious note. I like his car and even tho. it's bit too much for me...but I don't just go out and talk ish about him. buttom line...he's making money and people know him (but they don't know you). So don't hate, congratualte

I actually know the guy. I had no idea that all of you guys hated him that much. On a serious note, he is an alright guy. I have seen other people (Import bigshots) that act a lot worse than him. I guess it just comes with the territory. You should hear how the industry puts these guys on pedastals. I guess it just gets to a guy after a while. He doesn't call himself an import legend, it is the industry making up these cheesy names. But yeah, he is kind of thug mode.

Wow. Calm down a little man. I remember when the car was blue. It was much nicer then. I am not mad at him for having sponsors, or the fact that he can do whatever he wants to his car. I don't like him becuase of his attitude. I don't like him because of the way he handled something that I was witness to. I do not need to show him respect. Respect is earned, not forced. He lost all respect two years ago from me. I agree, he has done a lot for the show scene. That does not give him the right to act as he does.

Oh, and I don't hate on him because of his car. I just think his car is ugly. I think a lot of people cars are ugly, but that is not grounds for hate.

Hell, I remember as far back as when Team Kosoku ruled the show circuit before Art n' Motion even existed back when it was Cito C's MR-2, Nate's baby blue GS-R with 18" Racing Hart Tuners, and RJ de Vera's G2 teg (the egg yolk). I also remembered Kyosho Racing had first B18C Spec R swap with a custom turbo and Japanese front end conversion, "All Show, All Go". Back then, RS Akimoto intakes, Sebring exhausts, JG and Gude parts were the sh*t before "Type R", "JDM" anything.

Yea, I remember when LJ's EK was metallic blue with the huge "FEELS" logo on the windshield. The only thing I remembered the EG he used to have sported Sparco seats in the front AND the back, plus he had a large Honda logo custom done somewhere in the back. Also, does "David Shih" or "The Silver Bullet" ring a bell? :D

However, I like LJ's philosophy on the stickers he puts on his car. If they sponsor him, he'll put 'em on. If he has the parts in his car, he'll be more than happy to support the products. He doesn't just support the companies' logos just for the show and then remove them afterwards. They stay on. Or at least that's what I read from an interview 3-4 years ago on Super Street. Like I said before, his car does what it was built to do. It's a marketing gimmick and a decent way to push the companies' products through a show-winning car.

i remember his miata blue eg hatch back in the days. it was OK but, not a trend setter. those headlight covers on the EG and the eyebrows on the Ek weren't very trend setting. the big mouth wings west kit wasn't very trend setting either. the trend setter back then in the industry was kosoku and RJ de vera imo. he was the first to start off the infamous two tone pleather interior.

he didn't start this JDM trend either. imo, Hugh Le or Sunny Lau were the first ones to blow this JDM trend up. Sunny imported the B16b with the top fuel turbo kit and it was getting a good amount of attention. but, when Hugh took ownership of that car, it drew a large amount of attention.

and LJ isn't "OG" in this industry. it's good that he has sponsors but, he is putting his name on very low quality products such as KMC and the other bunk company that makes shift *****, peddles, etc.

im just statinh he had a cover var before most of these fools in the industry were even into imports.....and no one can tell em they werent jockin the car on the cover of import tuner before anyone saw that kit and no one had c5's

the simple fact is...there are always several types of consumers involved in the import trends world. some people like throwing huge body kits on their car, etc...and theres other people who will never touch their body, but will drop thousands on the motor...what a few people are failing to see here is that not everybody follows trends...i mean honestly, just because someone called developing your car cleanly "JDM" doesnt mean that back in 95 some folks werent sportin' clean body lines and some japanese wheels that werent 18's...the main point of this thead was everyones opinion on Lj...from what ive read, alot of people have formed the same opinion on the guy...so maybe thats saying something about him...i dunno...and for the record, back in the day i still wasnt interested in those hot pink suicide door integras, and 18 inch Type-C's...and i never will be...i respect the simple fact that someone poured thousands of dollars into their car, and thats about it...
