What color to paint EG coupe?
Hey guys, I'm going to be working on painting my car.
My idea is to paint the engine bay flat black and then use rubberized undercoating on everything that won't be seeing besides in the interior. I really would like to paint the car white and I'm trying to decide between these two colors right now. One is Crystal White from the 10th Anniversary RX-7. The other is Championship White from the Type R's.
What do you guys think? Suggestions?

i, personally, have never seen a DAP (dark amethyst pearl) EG coupe.
i can also tell you that black engine bays are the WORST and flat black will make it look worse.
if youre spending the money to have something done, why make it look like an 8 dollar rattlecan job?
just paint the bay the same color as the car, and apply the same clear coat to the bay as the car, and it will look better than factory because the factory skimps on clear coat in that area.
dont paint your car champ white man unless you truly love the color and if you do, just paint the bay with it, otherwise, 3 years from now, youll be staring at that flat back bay kicking yourself in the ***.

Re: What color to paint EG coupe?
I do like the CW, but I figured I could throw in a curveball with the Crystal White. It was a color that only came on the 10th AE RX-7, so I figured it would be special like the Championship White. I didn't want to repaint it an ordinary white like the Frost or Taffeta. Also, I don't want to use any colors that used a lot of metallic or pearl and I don't want a custom color just in case I had to repaint due to damage. I love the Championship White and Crystal White because they are basic colors that don't use metallic or pearl. I've always been a fan of a nice, clean paint color.

Re: What color to paint EG coupe?
I know ultimately I choose what color the car will be but I just wanted some suggestions. I know that the hatch looks better in certain colors than the coupe. I really like yellow, but I don't think the EG can pull off yellow like the EK can. I also really liked the khaki color that some people did their CRX in, but once again, I don't think the EG can pull that color off.

Re: What color to paint EG coupe?
I'm currently leaning towards the CW myself, but I always liked that Crystal White color. The only thing wrong with painting it Crystal White is that it's a color that was reserved only for the 1988 10th AE RX-7, which only 1500 were made in the U.S., so it's rarer than the CW you see on the Type-R's.

Perfect! That's what I was looking for! The CW does look nice on the EG I'd say. Most likely I will end up going with the CW to kind of keep the color in the family I guess you could say.
