Re: OFFICIAL ROOF RACK PIC THREAD !!
I know the whole you get what you pay for, and if it's on ebay it's garbage, and it probably is. I just want to know if anyone has risked trying the extremely cheap roof racks on ebay. The one im specifically talking about is for an Integra, but I am sure they have other applications.

Thanks

Super expensive hard to find wood rack! Ebay special cross bars. Yum.
@senate33 : here are those exact bars painted black and mounted.

Hows them crossbars holding up? I've been thinking of ordering them from ebay as well.
I'm a medic in the Army and I wanted something I can put litters and Long Spine Boards on for transportation. Obviously not with casualties on them, but I hate having to put down my back seat on my EE Wagon and still not have room to shift with a couple long spine boards coming up in the middle.

I think its pretty sweet too!
Up here we're very close to the mountains/camping, etc. Basically 30-40 mins from the city.
Having a bread basket is quite functional up here in Canada.
This guy could've used it that day to haul winter rims, & tires since he has a bunch of bracing throughout his car.
I'm seriously thinking of putting one on my EJ1.
It would make my sunroof useless but if be useful in the winter.

I got an off brand Saris rack, and put a $100 Wal-Mart basket on it, and I get a good 2" at least, from the roof to the loadbar. Then the roof to basket clearance is at least a couple more inches. It all depends on the brand you get. Ask people with racks and that can still use their sunroof, and they can point you in the right direction. Sadly, I'm sunroofless...

It's gonna be pretty tight with a 92-95 though since the roof pops up and not under to slide.
I could do without a sunroof while the rack is on. They are irritatingly loud with it open anyway. I only put mine on when I need it anyway, it seriously affects mpg's.
Every one of the data points on this chart that are below 30 are where I had the rack on for at least 1/2 the tank, with the lowest one being when I had the bike on for about a 100 mile round trip:
Yeah, I fill up from empty about every 5 days. I drive too much
