I have been thinking about removing mine too...there's a little bit missing on one side. I like the hairdryer idea, but would it wreck the paint too??? that would seriously suck. I want to be as sure as possible that it's safe before i do it, since i can't afford a new paint job. Peace out

I don't think it would hurt the paint because the pinstripe would be able to be torn off before it got /that/ hot. Just don't hold the hairdryer in one spot for too long a time and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I did this on my 94 GSR and my 97 Prelude.
Use a heat gun or hair dryer.
Heat up a 6 inch section of pin stripe (starting from an end). Carefully, using your fingernail, lift up the fitst 1/4 - 1/2 inch of pin stripe starting on the end. Slowly pull on the pin stripe and point the hairdryer about 2-3 inches ahead of where the pin stripe is separating from the car as you pull it. If you point the heat gun directly at where it is separating from the car, it will melt the pin stripe and it will come off in 1 in sections, not 12 inch sections.
The whole process is easier if you leave the car in the sun to heat up first.
I would not do this to a car that was more than 2-3 years old for fear that you may see a difference in the paint color or a ripple in the clearcoat.
