Re: (WhoisDan)
use a tripod, take a picture with the hood up then down, open both in photoshop, merge the closed hood layer into the open one, use the eraser but change the opacity to you likeing and bam there you have it.

1 . open the two images [ as shown ]
2 . go to the open hood image, then press CTRL+A [ or Select All ], then CTRL+C
[ to copy ], then click on the closed hood image, and press CTRL+V [ to paste ].
the open hood image should have pasted into the closed hood image as a new layer.
3 . now turn off the closed hood image layer so that you just see the open hood
image. [ click the eye for the background layer as shown by the red box ].
4 . erase everything outside of the engine bay [ as shown ].
5 . if you turn on the background (closed hood image) layer, you should see
the car without a hood.
6 . the next part is fading the parts around the motor (and whatever else you want
to keep visible) -- this is only if you want to keep parts of the hood visible. so with
the eraser tool, you have what is called Opacity and Flow. I used an Opacity of 25%
and a Flow of 100% --- experiment to see what you prefer.
7 . turn off the background layer and start eating away at the engine bay layer.
8 . as you're doing it, you might want to turn on the background layer to see
how it looks.
