I doubt you bought an actual EK9, unless you managed to import/purchase a Japanese market Civic Type-R hatchback (right hand drive). If you're looking to find the actual chassis code, look at the numerals in the 4th, 5th, and 6th places on your VIN (it's under the windshield on the driver's side). My guess is an EJ6.

As for the body kit, you may want to reconsider it. It appears to be a cheap bargain-style body kit from eBay or someplace similar. That kind of "style" has died off years ago (if that's something that you care about). My suggestion would be to look at the several threads here on H-T regarding the Civic hatchbacks and do some research to see what you can do with them.

I'd steer clear of body kits, as toyomatt84 said, the bodykit/fast and furious phase went out the door years ago.

Look into lip kits. Keeps the OEM look/flow for the most part and in most people's eyes, is a much more tasteful way to mod your civic. They are also much cheaper (in general, you can break the bank trying to source genuine mugens etc.), just be sure to stay away from fiberglass, you'll want ABS plastic ones, especially if your roads are questionable.

Get a matching set (OEM/Si etc, pick out what ya like) all the way around, with a slight drop and a decent set of wheels and you'll be golden. Great place to start. Once you're comfortable wrenching, move on to basic bolt ons (intake, header, exhaust) on the engine.

ALWAYS RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH before buying! Don't post right away, do your homework first and that'll help keep the flames at bay. (some people here are not the kindest to new/uneducated users)

Hope this helps, and welcome!

Yeah be like every one else and get a drop, wheels and a lip and get a lot of e-cred. Don't be unique and do what you want with the car.
