Dust problem-Black Car
My car is black and every time I wash my car or ever just wipe it off and park it in the garage for awhile it collects a bunnnch of dust some how. It only my car...How do yall keep your black cars clean all the time? Do they sell some type of duster for cars that doesn't scratch your paint?

every duster I had eventually left swirl marks on my black paint. what I found to be the best is to hose off the car and dry it when it gets dirty, or use a microfiber towel to wipe the dust off, but it helps if it's light dust and not a heavy thick layer of it. If it's thick, hose the car off and dry it. When you use a duster, and sometimes the microfiber towels, depending on the weather, it creates static and leaves the car positively charged and it acts like a magnet for dust particles to stick to the car. If you hose the car off and dry it, there's no static created and it helps a little bit.

Seriously......just another perk of owning a black car!
Careful with the duster.....just wiping off dust can make tiny little scratches in your paint.
I found a way to get around the dust, I'm addicted to washing my car.
One or two days in between washes tops!!

Yes, black is sexy as hell when clean. But, I can't deal with the swirl marks that show up as well as dirt

HAHA yeah you just gotta get a pocket sized car duster and after you wash/claybar/polish/wax/seal/all the other crap you have to do to keep a black car blinging you just have to wip out the duster and dust it offf at every stop sign/red light...
seriously though i heard that after you detail your car if you just dust it off at night when you garage it and in the morning when you leave the bling affect lasts 2 days instead of one
This reminds me... am i the only one that has the 98+ integra rear bumper collect like an inch of dirt after like 5 minutes of driving it (after a detail)

black cars are KNOWN for this problem. i used the california duster. it works wonders but leaves swirl marks
im also repainting my car, black. they have this new clear coat coming out by DuPont that is scratch resistant>no more swirl marks from california duster
also, those of you that have swirl marks and your car is black. they've had this product out for awhile now, its called "3M Swirl Mark Remover for DARK COLORED CARS". apply it with a high speed buffer, and viola, looks like your car rolled out of the paint booth. its also permanent unlike all those waxes you guys have tried that come off in a couple weeks or less
us black car owners should stick together. team black forever

Your done dude. I've owned a black car. There is nothing you can do about it but park in a garage and have it detailed once a month. You will fight and fight but eventually your going to get tired of it and just give up. Then your car will slowly fade from black to charcoal grey. Most nice black cars I see are beamers, benzos and above my price range sports cars. I wonder why? Every other black car I see is either a swirl haven or is on it's way to becoming one. I'll never buy a black car again.
