Iduno why people are giving the OP a hard time and then complaining about his attitude?
The guy seems hilarious. Keep doing it as hard as you can, OP.

I think you need to get a motorcycle, you're in the wrong club.

Oh and shouldn't this thread be moved into the appearance section?

and it isn't just about the appearance. It's a build in the shakedown phase while I touch up the subsurface red and hit the performance. Then a coat of professional paint. What will it be...?

Sorry, but you don't get to make the rules here. Calling people out is kind of against our Terms of Service, just for your reference.
As for this thread, I have no clue what your intent is, but keep it relevant to the thread topic (ie. the 1997 Del Sol owned by darksun)... or don't post at all.

To run as good as it looks under the hood. The color is done, just needs a durable finish. If any kind del sol owners would like to share pictures of what they've got I can compare all the variety of currently running del sols. Especially flat black, murdered out, suped up street rods/racers. No pressure.
Did you really ask the guy with a primered car why he wants pictures of other cars? I think I'll see what others have done while I can.
"How many times do I have to tell you? Stop leaving your toys laying around!"

Re: 1997 rat sport del sol
yeah. That's over the top. Not what you look for in a daily driver. More like something made for a meet. I'd like something I can show, cruise, speed, drag race and pull off the road into the shade all in one.

Are you kidding me? Give the guy a break. As long as HE has fun when he gets in the driver seat, that's all that matters. Why doesn't anyone hassle the people with unnecessary camber? It's all in taste. And matte black with a clean engine bay is his taste.

Re: 1997 rat sport del sol
First pretty rude comment
Honestly, it just looks like a car without any form of direction. Just a random arrangement of things that show very little time or effort put into them. And I wouldn't give your car the time of day for a second glance in my rear view mirror, if I saw it approaching.
Now, that's not to say that there isn't potential within. But, as it stands, it's more depressing then anything.

Huh? Where could you ever pull that assumption from? I'm a staff member on the world's most predominant Honda forum, in a country that receives only the Ridgeline (not really a truck, in my opinion). How could I possibly be following ANY red truck threads here?
And, as far as the obscure rat rod reference...
1. You don't have a rat rod. You have a riced out Del Sol.
2. I happen to like rat rods (and have built/owned them in the past), not that it's any of your business in the first place. I recommend you tone it down a bit, and keep your assumptions to yourself.

Here is what he had to say your your "kind words"
I thought these sites were for sharing ideas and cars not hosing people down with bile. This is my car. I work on it and drive it. I don't care what you drive on this thread as much as i will if it's a black del sol. from your tone since day 1, I'm not sure you are someone worth acknowledging. If you are thru mucking up this forum I can get back to that sharing of the modifying of a car like these sites are meant for.
Now this person seems to think that your being a bit harsh aswell.
It's one thing to call him out on the artwork; though I didn't think he was insinuating on using that exact image, just a look what type of thing for a conversation starter.
I also respect your involvement and opinion on many topics BUT, I think you are not giving him any slack on the rat rod concept. I am an old rodder and have built many a car. The rat rod look is not a year/genre specific build. It is a simple function over appearance tradeoff that leaves a builder open to multiple uses and innovation over time.
Many builders enjoy their cars in a nearly unfinished state and derive great joy from being the counter culture to the otherwise fad driven compulsion mods. Personally, I believe the rat rod look started with poor people determined to have a place in "the scene".

Re: 1997 rat sport del sol
No, I'm making an obvious point of fact. Don't misconstrue that just to raise your own hostilities.
He sure is, but I never complained of the user's attitude. I merely pointed out things that would display a more accurate representation of what's going on. You read negative connotation on a lot of my posts, it seems.
Here you go scrolling past all the hating and bashing going on, To tell him the rules and that calling people out is against policy. But I guess calling him F'd up and bashing this guys thread is better right??? You'd think you would be more concerned about that but nope.
Dont think there is any rules on what he post's in HIS appearance thread that doesn't have to do with a delsol. People do it all the time, ask for pictures, advice, motivation, Info. We all know its posted in here somewhere but its better to discuss in here with the people that see his car and his build so far rather than make a new thread in a different section for people to hate on it and say do your research or use google. Maybe he doesn't do much to his car so he's asking people for ideas and pictures for a reason. Instead of insulting the guy and busting his ***** why not just give him some useful criticism and go along with the thread or not comment at all. I seen you alllll over this guy's thread and never see you like this in any other post's. Sooo I'm not "stretching" anything to far its what's really going on. Its sad to see a mod of hondatech acting like this towards a individual on here really.
I find it far more "sad" to see user's focusing entirely on the negative, instead of using the criticisms to drive their ambitions and make the best of what they have, instead of claiming to have something they don't.
PS. I never posted an RSX, but thanks for noticing.

Bat country
Can't stop here
You aren't doing anything different, as from the norm. Everyone has their own methods of customizing a car to their liking. Myself, I'm kinda liking all the rock chips on my front end from the winter. A bit of faded paint with fresh. Imperfect so to say. But to others they see it as a nice car for it's age. It gets compliments as well.
Should have just cleared over the original faded paint. Would look alot better than the black primer. Better off taking reducer to that horrid uneven primer, and stop wiping when you see red.
The engine bay is clean though.
A+ thread
