03 accord v6 if I straight pipe my car(j-pipe back) into 2 mufflers will it still pass inspection/emission tests? I know that the 3rd cat under the car has no sensors in it and won't throw a CEL code but will the 2 precats in the engine bay be enough for me to pass smog/emissions?

2 cat deletes, not cat at all, = instant fail.

Depends were you live. Some places only do visual inspection and if they see you have a cat then you pass. Some places run your car on a dyno and check your tailpipe. Different states/provinces have different regulations on whats polluting and whats not. Were I live I had a gutted cat on my 90 integra and I passed the dyno test. So if its only a visual put a cover over your straight pipe to make it look legit. Or if you know the people pay em extra $$$ to pass you. Or do you etest with stock exhaust then change it out..

illinois only hooks up the computer to the obd2 and checks if you have a CEL. they're not "trained" in seeing if you have a cat or not (:

This will depend on your state's emission requirements. Washington will just hook in to your OBD port and verify all the monitors have run with no trouble codes.

The real question is why are you doing this? The stock exhaust system was designed by a team of engineers to perfectly handle the airflow of your engine. Unless you are planning on adding major modifications such as a turbo or performance pistons then you will not see benefit from this exhaust modification. You may actually see a performance loss as well as an ever so slightly more smoggy sky.

rv6 j-pipe runs long and I dont feel like cutting into my exhaust piping to fit a cat and as far as performance.. It may increase a little on the top end. hiflow cat vs straight pipe vs test pipe, when tested the straight pipe gives the most significant gains, though people try to stay away from is because it's "illegal". But I doing it for space reasons, not so much performance. Here in texas I know they run the cars on dyno, check obd2 and stick a stick up the tailpipe. my state isnt that harsh on people with out cats, just wanted to know if I'd pass with just the 2 precats.

you can put the stock exhaust back on the accord go pass the emission test and then change back to what you like more.

hah anywhere but california you can probably pass..all it cost is $$$
