What can I do improve acceleration in my Accord?
Hey guys, I have a 2011 Accord LX-S and I was just wondering what upgrades I can do to make it faster off the jump. I already have a K&N Cold Air Intake in it and I would like to add some more performance parts if possible. What could I do?

OP... there really isn't much t be done, especially at the lower levels of monetary expenditures.
best keep it stock.

ignore the nay sayers. Although you wont be reaching anything huge, ANY engine can benefit from helping it breathe. You already have the intake, now get a QUALITY exhaust so it doesnt sound like ****. There are also high flow cats and systems that use the stock o2 sensor placement. Dont get TOO BIG a pipe diameter since you are still at stock levels. You dont need that much exit flow yet.
If its a manual consider a clutch and flywheel.
Also, without saying you shoulda gotten a V6, you should have gotten the EX.

Turbo Kit….best bang for the buck….i/h/e waste of money in my opionion, You'll gain a whole 10-15 hp for $1000…..A turbo kit will net you 100-200+ depending on how crazy you want to go….

I'm with johnsc2235 on this. If you want a 4-banger to run like it's not dragging the Titanic behind it, your best option is to turbo.
Now, if you do that, you're probably going to end up destroying the resale value of your car, and possibly destroy your car far before its usable life should be over. But you WILL notice a boost in performance.

Nothing will make it faster of the jump. The DBW needs to be modified. The stock parameters for DBW do not allow for instant throttle response....

even exhaust wont make it fast off the jump..it will increase the high end power but not low end...

Sell the car. Srs. Ok, you can "improve" acceleration with bolt ons. But it won't make any difference in terms of "jump" off the line.
There are things you could also do, new smaller wheel, sticky tires and maybe a solid engine mount. But we are talking thousands of $$$ and it would drastically change the character of the car. Bottom like will be... that you still won't be happy with it.
Honda Accord is not a race car. You can't make it what it's not.

Sorry, had to. Forgot about this tho. I've always had cable throttles. Makes sense. You drive an econo box OP

Re: What can I do improve acceleration in my Accord?
The Accord V6 isn't all that "fast" either. I got one. Motor Trend clocked at at 0-60 in 6.5 sec. So it's fast. But it does not jump off the line, which I think is what OP is talking about.
There are less powerful cars that just "jump" and pull strong. But when you clock it, it's not all that fast even if it felt that way.
With that said...like was already said above, light weight is the key. Without looking, the coupe LX-S is like 3300lbs. It's no lightweight.

If it is DBW, it will not jump off the line. The throttle pedal to throttle blade correlation is not linear. This is done for fuel economy. Initial take off is one of the biggest consumers of fuel. There will always be 1 second or at least .5 secs of delay, unless the parameter is modified....

Re: What can I do improve acceleration in my Accord?
Id say that yes, pretty much all cars are DBW now. The transition started, in earnest, around '07 in my opinion. Although various cars and trucks had DBW before then, by '07 most if not all of them had it.

Re: What can I do improve acceleration in my Accord?
No, Car & Driver clocked it at 5.8 0-60 and 14.3 1/4 mile. Top speed limited to 127mph and I was doing that barely into 5th gear. Its faster than the 305hp CTS. Mine jumps off the line well enough to leave 30 ft streaks, rips into 2nd and barks into 3rd bone stock. Theres a reason it has VSA, it uses it alot.
