timing chain issues on two of my Hondas problem solved passing the word on to other p
Went to a Honda dealer a couple of days ago to get my key fobs done on my 04 Honda Accord he comes back and tells me that the timing chain is stretched and said it was my fault now I run AMSOIL in the car I change vote every 7500 miles he told me that it was me not maintaining the car correctly obviously I was pissed so I started looking up timing chain problems on Hondas and civics come to find out its not my fault at all it's the timing chain tensioner The dealer made it sound like I wasn't maintain the car well which is wrong I run AMSOIL in the car and I maintain the car very well so here is the link to the article about how to fix your timing chain on your K series motor Honda This site will explain what to do and what after market chain tightener will not let this happen again Honda's just covering it uphttp://www.superstreetonline.com/how-to/engine/htup-1005-honda-k-series-tensioner/

Ive worked on Hondas K series since they came out. I have NEVER seen a sheared chain tensioner. Amsoil is the internets favorite oil,but that doesnt mean its good.
I have 180k on My RSX and only run Penzoil Platinum and Wix filters. Never had a chain issue. Maybe its luck, maybe its better oil.
Either way,I doubt the chain tensioner in the article is going to make things any better.
