Default Power loss at turns

When I make a left turn while accelerating slightly, nothing seems to happen and when I straighten the steering wheel, the car seems to surge forward with a jerk as if the extra power was stored somewhere and is now released.
I get the feeling that turning the steering wheel, especially left, chokes the vehicle almost stopping it.

Has anyone had this experience also?
Any insight will be highly appreciated.

i would take your fuel filter out and check out the screen in the tank... maybe the bottom half of the fuel filter screen is gummed up... has the car sat for any period of time with bad gas in it???

No, car has not sat with bad gas. I like the suggestion. Will have someone look into it.

I also noticed a strange noise coming from the dash area on the driver side. It will go away at high speeds or maybe it will be drowned by more noise. Don't know if these 2 r related.

Thank you.
