Default Passenger Window Issue

Here is the deal I have a 2004 Accord Sedan all of the power windows work up/down from the drivers sides except the front passenger window also the passenger door switch will not work either. The rear windows work from the its own door and from the remote.

The passenger window will only click. I have seen several issues with this on this site but nothing that fits what I have. My questions would be as follows

1. Could it be the relay if the other windows working properly?
2. A ground at the drivers side window control box (If the other windows work)?
3. Is there a way to test just the passenger switch?
4. Any other fuses to check?
5. I do not hear the window motor engaging.

Just some general question before I try and take the entire panel off and hit the motor.

Thanks for all your help.

Default Re: Passenger Window Issue

Don't know if you have already solved your problem, but here are a few suggestions that helped me with my 1998 Accord.
- The fact that the rear windows are the only ones affected and the front passenger works rules out lots of ugly stuff.
- Do you have access the those schematics in the Honda brand shop manuals that Honda sells do it yourselfers? I find these enormously helpful with electrical problems. If you do not have them, look online as sometimes people will upload them. How they got them in digital form is a puzzle. Even the manual for a Honda Accord near the year of yours will probably get you close.
- I suspect a wiring issue, probably on the ground side, which is shared.
- With the ignition on but the engine not running, operate the switches at the problem doors. Listen for the associated motor relay to click. If you don't hear anything, the wiring diagnosis becomes more likely.
- On my 1998 there are separate 20 Amp. fuses for all three passenger windows. Unlikely that both rear window fuses would go simultaneously, but worth a quick look.
- While the the fuses are removed, turn on the ignition but do not start the engine. With your VOM on the DC voltage setting, look for 12 Volts on one of the two socket connections. (When using VOM avoid using the ohms setting until you are certain which connector only goes to ground through passive components.) If no voltage measured, start pursuing that side of the circuit, but attempt to measure the ground side as well. Having identified the 12-Volt side, place probe on other connection of fuse socket and measure resistance to ground when attempting to operate window. Should be about 75 ohms (the DC impedance of the relay coil and bypass resistor).
- If problem appears to be on the ground side, pull off door inside panel to one or both rear doors. Shop manual might show where the grounds are connected, but I have not seen this in mine. Follow the wiring using your meter, attempt to operate the motors and relay with a separate 12 volt source, etc. until you find the problem.
- Prayer helps, too!
