after having only crx's since first driving in 91, i finally got a more practical, up to date car with working A/C, so ii got a 2003 accord coupe, black with gray cloth seats, i got it at a Ford dealership, it looks mint inside & out, and drives like new with no problems, has 146,000 miles, saw the carfax and service records, was a one owner car and regularly maintained at honda dealer.

it said 2005 on the window, but he found out its an 2003, i was assumed it was an LX, cause did'nt have sunroof, but it said V6 on the back, but no LX or EX, but it had two tailpipes, one on each side, and the motor said 3.0 V6 SOHC. the salesman said it was an EX without a sunroof, it does'nt say anywhere on the paperwork i got, just says 2003 honda accord,
are the LX's all 4 cylinders ? and EX V6's ?

since i'm a newbie at this generation accords, i was just seeing if anyone can help me out to find what model i got ?

it also had aftermarket konig 16 wheels, but almost identical looking to the star wheels with lines split in each spoke on some 03' accords i've seen. but i can't identify the model "according" to the type of wheels it has.

If it doesn't have a moonroof, it's not an EX. Likely an LX V6, yes there is such a thing. If you join the Honda owners website, and enter your VIN, it should give you all the details.

the salesman said it was an EX, but he could be wrong, but i think he went by looking at a sticker around the door jamb area ? or maybe he just assumed it.

i just had to print out a copy of a temporary statefarm insurance I.D. until the main one is mailed, and i noticed that on the I.D. it was listed as :
2003 HONDA ACCORD "LX" ULEV 2D and i think on some other paperwork it said ULX ? if there is even such a thing? or maybe thats abbreviation for ULEV LX ?
i read about what ULEV means, and all the other types such as SULEV, etc, and how they are low emissions motors, but not sure if each of those goes with a specific model, such as ULEV = on LX, SULEV = on EX, or something like that?

i must of left the carfax printouts on the salesmens desk, and i admit that i should of took more time reading through the carfax info, and read the model type off the info on there or the service records, maybe thats what the salesman was going by, i was with my dad, and while i was test driving it, he was reading through all the carfax details good, and said its been cared for good and taken all to the honda dealer for service & maintenance, it said transmission was checked in 2010 and no problems, or could of possibly done that recall thing i read about? but thats why i should of took more time to read it, but he did say it did'nt have any recalls shown for that vehicle, but thats not true cause i just saw on the forum about it having recall for transmission, so just wonder if he was just trying to make it sound better to get it sold, cause he said they have'nt sold a single car all day, so maybe trying to meet some quota.

i've been looking for an accord coupe for a little while, and most i see are from private owners through craigslist, and you don't know as much of the condition, and it was rare for me to come across the one i've been looking for at a dealership, even though it was a ford dealer, cause they usually only accept trade-ins that are real good condition and they fix any things that don't work til its all in good working order, they say it has to go through a certification / inspection process (but who knows?, maybe thats bullshit? and i'm just falling for it, cause that does make it sound better),

not sure if carfax is free to pull up and printout? or if it costs, but i should go back to get those carfax papers from the guy at the dealer, cause i need that to see all the different services and stuff,

If you know what dealer it was serviced at you can take the vin and they will print out a service history. Can also go back and ask salesman for history of what the seller did to get it ready to sell.

Carfox costs, but in pretty sure the honda owners site is free . Also he may have meant there are no OPEN recalls. The owners site is a good place to confirm this as well.

It's an LX. The EX models had a sunroof. An "EX without a sunroof" would be an LX.

i registered to the Honda Owners Site and entered my VIN and it came back as :

2003 Honda Accord Coupe
Trim: LX V6 5 Speed Automatic
Exterior Color: Nighthawk Black Pearl
Interior Color: Black With Gray Accent

i had a feeling it was an LX, since no sunroof, just wanted to be sure what i had,

first i was set on looking for a black coupe with dark gray cloth seats with sunroof (EX), but was'nt having any luck, cause most EX's i ran into all had leather,

then i realised i didnt need to have a sunroof, i just needed a newer, updated, practical car with cold A/C thats reliable, then i went to check out a black 03 coupe thats automatic at westway ford dealership pre-owned, and it was in good condition with dark gray cloth seats like i wanted, and drove like new, and was $5988, so i went ahead and got it, cause it was hard enough just finding a black coupe one with dark gray cloth seats, in my price range with decent mileage, so i did'nt care if it was EX or LX or have sunroof, etc . .., i could of waited for one to come along but i was already looking for cars for a while, but this was good enough.

after taxes and title included and sending off for plates and everything, the total came to $6653, which is good, cause i drove one earlier that was worse and it was going for $8000.
at first i was'nt looking at cars with over 150k on them, trying to find lower mileage ones, but the ones with even 115,000k were like $7500-$8500, but i went to check the one at ford out anyway even know it had 146,000k on it, and glad cause it shows that if it was well kept and maintained at the dealership regularly, it can be like new even with those miles, which it is.
