Default How to disable the valet key on an 05 Civic, can it be done?

Hi all, I'm Gregg from MA & my GF's sleezoid son sold her his car, but kept the valet key.

He "steals" the car whenever he feels like it.

She says to me it's OK (she's pretty docile) because that's what Asian families do, help each other. (I'm not Asian).

He bull sh*ts her allot & for some reaason she believes him.

I think he's gonna ruin it like he did her last vehicle.

He claims he kept the valet key so she'll have access to the car if she loses her keys, but I've got the other set with the fob so he doesn't need it, he's just blowing smoke up her butt & she's falling for it.

He then tells me "well you can't get in the trunk with it". Whoop di do! Once you turn the key twice to bypass that alarm & are in the car all you gotta do it pull the trunk lever near the seat!

So, is there anyway I can disable the valet key so it won't bypass the alarm or at the very least, it won't start the car w/o taking it to a dealer?

I don't want to take it to the dlr. (the G/F & son would figure out I did something if I take the car since I don't normally drive it).

I want to do it as stealthy as possible so when he tries it nothing happens & it'll force him to fix his own car & quit relying on his moms car.

Thanks.

what you need to do is bring the car to the honda dealer nearest you and have them do an all key lost reprogaming of the immoiblizer unit.this will remove his programed key from the system. this procedure requires all key you have that you want to start the car. his valet key that he has will still open the car. once procedure is done it wont start it. the immoblizer unit only holds i believe 6 keys max.good luck.
