Hi,
I own a 2009 Honda Accord LX Sedan and I was told by one of the tire shops that one of the steel wheel is slightly bent which is causing the wobbling experience when I drive in the range of 55 to 70 mph. My question is, is it possible to fix the bent steel wheels or should I simply replace it?

Replace. There are lots of Accord guys trying to get rid of their 16 and 17 alloys. You can find plenty of deals for them, instead of spending $$$ on a steel wheel.

Consider it an upgrade, rather than replacement.

Also, your steel wheel have a wheel cover on them. So if the wheel is bent, more likely the cover is warped too. You may not noticed it by looking at it, but once it rotates, you looks mega ugly. We seen plenty of them on the road.

I ordered mine online and had them shipped for my winter rims. You also might find one for sale in the for sale section. Ordering one rim will be cheaper and less hassle than repairing the bent rim.

This could be a dumb question but I will still ask.
I have a 2009 Honda Accord and its tire size is 215/60-16

Can I replace it with 235/65/17 without any major modifications? I understand the basics i.e. 235 is the width of the tire, 65 is the aspect ratio and 17 is the diameter, but not sure about the bolt pattern and all.

One of my friend is selling his Porche Cayenne's rims, I wanted to check if I can replace my accord's tires with them.

Please let me know.

So you want to put a tire for a 17" wheel on a 16" wheel? No, that's not going to work.

Wheel(s) = the actual wheel
Tire(s) = the actual rubber
Rim(s) = the edge around the wheel

Let's use the same word when talking about this to avoid confusion.

If you're asking about his tires going on your wheels, that will not work no matter how hard you try. The opening on those tires is 1" larger so they will not seat correctly on your wheel.

If you're asking if his wheels + tires will fit on your Accord, then no, that will not work either. It looks like the wheels are 17x7.5, +53 but they are 5x130.

Your Accord takes 5x114.3.

To add, I would recommend some OEM wheels from Acura TL, in addition to Accord Wheels. 17x7.5 or 18x8.

There are other wheels that will work too, for example, wheels from Infiniti G35. However, the hub is lightly larger, so you have to torque the nuts to almost perfect. And even then, it may not be 100% perfect. Some guys don't care. I do. And you can't get hub centric rings for it.

And then one should also think about clearance room for brakes.

In summary, go Honda to Honda is the closest connection IMO. When it's a "direct fit" you can be happy about money spent, and no need to worry about how to make it work. When you go with wheels from a different brand of car, there are too many differences even if all the specs seem to match.

It's not about if it will "work." It's also about being safe.

Yes my question was to put both the Rims & Tires(both 17'') on my accord. I am dumb, but not that big .

One more quick question if I may. Would it fit 225:50:17? Its from another Honda Accord V6. I have a 2009 Accord LX 4Cyl. Its original size is 215:60:16.

Are you talking about another wheel? The OEM 17" from a V6?

Use that and enter in both sizes. You'll find if you swap the entire setup they're nearly identical in size.

Provided they're the OEM Honda Accord wheels and whatever tires in that size they should fit without issue. Your speedometer will be slightly off due to a small difference in size.

I often wonder if there is really a difference? Yes, when you do the math, there is, but I read that on a Gen 10 Corolla, the calibration is the same and peg at 16". So when you run 15" OEM (LE model), it's wrong to start. And when you run 17" (XRS)it's wrong too. 16" (LE optional and S) is where Toyota set it at.

Make sense, when cars need to come in at a price point, they are not going to spend even the extra time to calculate, test and confirm the different calibrations with different wheel combos in OEM spec.

This makes me wonder if there is really a diffrence between Accord 16"-18" OEM specs.

Not really because the total diameter of wheel + tire is almost equal. As you increase wheel diameter you decrease sidewall height so that total wheel tire diameter are almost equal. ie 15 inch wheel with 195/65 tire is 15 plus 9.9 of sidewall = 24.9 inch total diameter. 17 inch wheel with 215/45 tire is 17 plus 7.6 of side wall = 24.6 inch total diameter. With goverment allowance of +/- 3mph speedo accuracy there is no issue.

Correct. Manufacture may consider a small % to be a non issue, which is true. But if a car was to travel 100,000 miles, it could be a 2,000 mile difference. That could affect resale or trade value.

Don't pin me on the number, you get what I'm saying.

This could be one of my dumb questions again but pardon me for my ignorance.

So, I bought the OEM Alloy Rims from CraigsList and will be replacing my steel ones with them. My question is, do I need to buy new LUG NUTS for the Alloy Ones or would my original ones fit properly?

Without seeing what you bought, I would say 99.9% sure the nuts will fit.

What wheel did you get? How is your area in terms of crime? Wheel locks?

I had the OEM Steel wheels and Hub Caps (09 Accord LX). Now I bought the OEM Alloys 17" V6 ones. Do you know if it will fit?

Crime is (knock on wood) not bad, but you never know. I will explore the option of wheel locks as long as they don't look ugly.

I'm sure it will. If we live close, I would have offer to sell you mine. OEM 17" should be safe. It's the OEM 18" that have a "demand."

Thanks, we are in opposite coasts. One more question if you can answer. I am planning to put the Bridgestone Blizzak on the 17 Inch OEM alloy wheels. Planning to buy them from a friend but the size he has is 225/55/17 and I think I need 225/50/17. How much does it matter? Would the tires fit? Would it rub the walls etc?
