Hi,

I'm a new member here and have a noise coming from my driver's window when lowering, kind of like something plastic is rubbing against the glass. It is pretty loud, but doesn't do it all the time. It doesn't make it when you raise it, and it is ususally worse when the car has been sitting in the sun all day. I've taken the door panel off and used synthetic grease on the window mechanism, and sprayed lithium grease in the side tracks, and it hasn't helped at all. The car is an 2005 coupe, so the window does have some ussage. Has anybody had the problem, or does anybody have a clue? I would have a hard time duplicating the noise if I had somebody else take a look at the car.

does the window make the noise if you press against from one side or the other as it's lowering?

if it goes away I would vote for the seal making the noise as the window lowers

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try pressing on the window as its lowering when it is making the noise again and see it that stops or changes the noise. Maybe the seals are drying out.

yeap... or you may have a waxy build up on the windows

if its the seals causing the vibration/noise, how you do you fix that?

fix... I would think a good window cleaning may help, other than that there really isn't a way, it's friction build up and vibration. New/fresh seals would probably be the only way.

you could try to get some type of grease to put around the seals

why would you want to smear grease all over your windows?

He already put lithium grease in the tracks. (not recommended)

The inner window wiper can make that noise in those cars. Remove the door panel and see if it goes away.

true, that's why I ask him if he could push/pull on the winder slightly as it rolled up and down to see if it eased the sound
