Accord 2004 Cooling Hose question
2004 Accord LX 3.0 vtech 4 door. The inlet bypass hose which is located behind the air intake manifold. L shaped connects to the thermostat housing and to a metal pipe leading to the heater core assy. Ruins along side a metal pipe that connects to the same items.
Hose blew (most like; age). No stocks on hose in the DFW area, so found a stock hose at a parts house, same size and shape with minor trimming. Hoes worked, ran engnr for 45 minuets, no issue, came out the next morning water level was low in radiator, found steam from this hose and found hole.
Since the hose runs alongside the engine block does anyone know if this is a specialty hose material? This happened twice and I secured the hose to the metal pipe along side it the second time thinking the heat of the block may have caused the hole due to contac, but same issue. Ordered a Honda hose, but curios if anyone has any input as to this issue so I dont have this problem again, especially since the air intake manifold has to be removed to get to the hose.

Re: Accord 2004 Cooling Hose question
Sounds like a "rub" issue maybe?
Next, did the engine over heat very long - blown head gasket. Have you replaced the t-stat since you were messing with the cooling system.
Last, be sure the get all of the air out of the cooling system. The 04's are a lot easier to do this on than some of the older ones.
