ABS & VSA Lights on since Wheel Spinning in Snow
Hi All,
I hope I am in the right forum.
I tuned the VSA off as I was trying to get out of snow.
However, after spinning for a while 30mins to 1 hour getting out of snow the ABS lights also came on.
So now the VSA light is on and the ABS lights are on and i can'turn these light off (the VSA switch does not seem to work now and the lights always on).
Is it still safe to drive and how do I turn them off?
Thanks
W

Re: ABS & VSA Lights on since Wheel Spinning in Snow
The wheel sensors may be dirty from the wheels spinning in the snow/mud and the snow/mud flinging around and caking everything. The sensors probably need to be cleaned and the trouble codes cleared. Remove the wheels and have a look.
If the VSA and ABS lights stay on after that, you might want to go to the dealer to have them check the car.
The car is safe to drive; but, it is in fail safe mode, so VSA, etc. is off. Get it fix as soon as you can though, so the car is functioning as it was intended.

In a Junkyard near you.
Re: ABS & VSA Lights on since Wheel Spinning in Snow
Wild wheel spin sets the code because the ABS system wants to see all of the wheels turning. Since only a wheel or two were spinning the ABS system thinks it has two bad sensors since the rear wheels weren't spinning. Turning the car off and then restarting and going for a drive should fix it.
