2005 Honda Accord Oxygen Sensor
I have a 2005 Honda Accord coupe with a 4 cylinder engine. My engine light has been on for about two months now, so I took it to the dealership a few weeks ago. They found out that the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced..."Code P141 o2 Heater Malfunction". The honda dealership had the part in stock that I needed, part #36532 RAA-A02, and was ready to replace it, but it was a bit too expensive for me. Instead, my dad purchased a Bosch Oxygen Sensor from Autozone. He installed it (under the passenger seat/car somewhere). Unfortunately, the light came back on 2 days later. I don't understand whats going on and running out of time because my car is past due for inspection (june). The dealership reminded me that I can't get it inspected as long as the light is on. Please help!

Re: 2005 Honda Accord Oxygen Sensor
aftermarket oxygen sensor does not work well with hondas.. go OEM and it should take care of it..
I would never use a Bosch sensor in a Honda. They are the ones notorious for being wired incorrectly. If they wire the sensor's ground to the heater's 12v source, bye bye to the PCM. The heater's 12v source is not fused. Stupid.
Hondas and toya are very sensitive to using the correct air/fuel sensor. If the heater draws either a little too much or a little less than what the OEM sensor does, the check engine light never stays off.

Thank you for your post...I had a feeling that buying a brand other than the Honda brand would probably not satisfy the problem. I have warranty on the Bosch I purchased from autozone...hopefully I can get a refund!

Re: 2005 Honda Accord Oxygen Sensor
Bosch sensors are junk. Doesn't matter what car they are, they aren't worth wasting money on.
Always buy OEM o2 sensors. I had this problem on my explorer and my mustang before I learned the hard way.
always buy OEM when possible. makes a world of difference.
