I have a 2009 Honda Accord V6. Will be taking a trip across state and the total miles will be about 900 - 1,000. I currently have 100K miles.


I have kept to date with the oil changes, but really, that's it (outside of maintenance issues - the brakes (changed about 3 months ago), the spark plug issues, and recently a speed sensor).


Car runs fine as far as I am concerned. However, I am at the 100K mark which I know isn't a big deal these days, but still stuck in that concern.


I am early on my service, but will be taking in for an oil change before I go (oil life is at 25%, so think I might as well). I called the dealer to see what they rec and they said there wasn't anything for 100K. At 105K there was a bunch of items, but nothing at 100k.

They did however say at around 40K I should have had the trans fluid changed. I never did that. I do not notice any issues while driving, but is there any sense in getting the change before I go? Or just get the oil taken care of and deal with everything at the 105K mark?


I was in the Honda dealer about 2 months ago for a speed sensor - not sure all what else they chewcked. Also had state inspection done 3 months ago and passed - which per the check list looks at bunch of items. So I think I am good, but it's just he "100K" miles that has me.


Any advice?

Should be good, just make sure all your fluids and everything is in place. Transmission and all. Usually honda's last long time depends ofcourse on how you drive but 150k+ is when you should look into more details but you're still good at 100k+ area. Just go to a local dealer or oil change place, let them do full service just to keep it safe side. Change the filters and all. Enjoy your journey and be safe.
