Default Trunk won't open from inside latch

I locked my trunk when I took it to the shop to get some new tires put on the car. when I unlocked it it didn't "unlock". I tried multiple times to lock then unlock it again to no avail.

Anyone here know exactly what the problem is?

My key still works fine to pop the trunk using the trunk button.

Just to clarify, the trunk won't unlock when you use the lever by the driver's seat?

Does the key turn in the lock cylinder? If not, you may need to "re-key" it as the tumblers are too worn, or your key is.

If it does turn but doesn't unlock the trunk, remove the trim piece and inspect underneath the lock cylinder. There should be a white plastic tab attached to the bottom, it turns when you turn the key and it blocks the latch release when its in the lock position.

Correct.

The key turns fine in the keyhole. It simply won't unlock the lock. I'll have to take a look at the plastic tab over the next couple of days. thanks.
