2005-2010 Accord owners, Transmission software recall: Pointless or not?
Hey guys, have any of you went ahead with transmission software update?
I've read the recall notice and got the letter in the mail. Though it just seems pointless to me. They just add a delay between how long the gear shifts into whatever gear. And since they say this situation occurs from rapidly shifting between gears while in high rpm (something I never do), I find this recall to be a waste of my time.
Is the new delay more annoying or has it caused any other new issues for anyone?
And also how long did it take for them to update the software once you brought it in?
The sources in case some of you haven't heard yet:

Honda did the software update on the Odyssey before they issued the update for the I4 Accord.
I would do it just so if something goes wrong, it's not on you. And what better way for Honda to check it to give you a clean bill of health.
I know I'm copmaring apples to oranges, but the shifts were almost Toyota smooth at first when they did the update.
Now, it's back to it's old clunky self.
Haven't heard anything about any update for the V6 Accord (yet).

It's a free service, why not have it done. It doesnt take more then 20 minutes to do the actual update. So it really just depends on how busy they are and how soon the can get your car in after you get there.

I just bought a 2006 Honda Accord used. Where do I go to register it thru Honda, so that I can be notified of recalls?
