Default Windows rolling down when the car is off

I have a '98 Honda Accord and even when the car is off and the key is out of the ignition, I am still able to roll the windows down with the switch.

Any ideas?

No details but sounds about normal.

I think the MICU will run the windows for some amount of time before shutting off (~10 minutes )- if other inputs are or are not met.

Turn the key off-out and open the drivers door - windows will not work

The windows are still able to roll down even after I open the door and after I let the car sit for awhile.

Someone directly wired the power wire from the switch to a constant 12v source....either that or it is somehow touching 12v constant source

Interesting. Would this cause the cigarette lighter not to work? (I only ask because it doesn't work and I've been trying to figure out why)

Also, I opened the door panel today and there was a wire from the security light on the door but I can't find where it plugs into. Could that be a cause as well?

Cigarette lighter is a whole other issue, could be a fuse or no power or bad ground. Do you have the wiring diagram and a multi meter, you could easily trace the wires from where they come and go for the window. Also multiple wiring issues tell you the car has been messed with and not in the correct way.

Yeah I kind of figured. I got the car for $400 and the guy said he installed the stereo himself and that alone had me on edge but I couldn't pass up the deal. You get what you pay for though right? Lol

I have a multimeter but I don't have the wiring diagram so I googled it but I'm not sure which one is right.

Get the Haynes repair manual.... It has all the diagrams and makes it very easy to diagnose with a multi meter.

I have a 1993 Honda Accord and mine does the same thing doesn't matter how long I wait does it matter if I open the driver door as long as the battery is connected I can roll the windows up and down. It was my nephew's and he had someone put a stereo in it. I'm guessing there are some wires crossed

Could there somehow be some wires crossed when installing a stereo because the same thing happened to me or is that impossible
