How do I " CLEAR" the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (Check Engine Light) ?
HiYa, all... got a 98 Accord LX 2.3 4cyl. .... while I was "TRYING" to find the fuse for the rear brake lights, I had the vehicle running and pulled the under hood fuse #5 (20A) labelled "STOP" (I figured this was for the stop lamps, then thought 20Amps?) anyway I pulled it, it was OK. I then went to the drivers side fuse box and pulled fuse #9 (inst. panel,Back up lights) When I pulled this fuse, the "chimes" began to sound so I said "whoa" and put it back. This fuse was fine also. But then the D4 green drive light was flashing on & off (while the car was in park) and the the damn check eng(malfunction light came on) !!!!!! I shut off the car for a while, the D4 light corrected itself, but the check eng, (malfunction) light is constantly on...any way to correct this problem?
Thanks very much for a GREAT Honda Site!!!!!

To reset the ECM, with the ignition switch off, pull fuse #13 (clock backup) in the passenger side fuse panel for 10 seconds.
You can also just disconnect the battery cable for 10 seconds, but you will then have to reprogram your radio presets and clock.
Your engine and trany may operate a little differently after a reset until they relearn your dirving habits.
Good Luck
