Re: What's The Best Intake WITHOUT Breaking the Bank? (Sabastian)
Actually, I can get just about any intake at dealer cost, but some of them are STILL $150 - $200! Are these intakes THAT much better?!
The list of manufacturers is long: AEM / Akimoto / APC / DC Sport / Iceman / Injen / K&N / Toucan (Ractive) / V-Racing / Vibrant / Volant / Weapon R
Is one of these systems better than the others? For instance the DC Sport cold air intake is $190.00 while the Tucan (Ractive) is $90 - For all intents and purposes, they both appear similar, so why should I pay TWICE as much for the DC, while the Toucan will "do the job" nicely? Did I answer my own question?

simply put man, you get what you pay for. I can tell you from experience that Ractive makes crap products for the most part. I would suggest AEM or Injen.

what the f*ck is a pita? haha
as for the intakes it seems that they all have similar tubing (widths/diameters etc...) but the filters are all different...the cai's may vary a little though in terms of the different bends and different angles...

P.I.T.A. = (P)ain (I)n (T)he (A)ss -
Another question - I looked at AEM cold air induction systems - They seem to go down under the stock airbox (THROUGH the metal frame) am I correct in that assumption? If I do purchase the AEM, will I have to modify the car to install it?
BTW - Thanx guys! Very helpful this time!
Cheers

Very interested ... email me with the details - GMan_CRX@Hotmail.com
I'd like to know what color & condition it's in. How would you like to get paid?

It's silver and it's 2 years old. It has some scuffs from wires rubbing it, but it works just fine. I can clean the filter for you too.
I'll let you know when I pick it up. Probably be Friday.
I have a Paypal account if that for works for you.

Re: What's The Best Intake WITHOUT Breaking the Bank? (Sabastian)
Has anyone done this?:
http://www.teamdelsol.com/howto/coldair/diycoldair.htm
It sounds very convincing and from the looks of it, theoretically WOULD perform better than the AEM or INJEN. Just wondering if anyone's actually done this for their 5th gen Accord cuz the site gives instructions for a Del Sol.
I mean shoot, if $60~75 in making this would perform better than a $200 AEM, I don't see why not. Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself. Thoughts anyone?
