Default Crankshaft pulley hitting timing belt

Well I just changed the timing belt in my wifes 94 accord LX and noticed then that the drive belt and crankshaft pully had rubbed into the timing belt cover and now the new belt is loose and I beleive that is the reason. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

pull it appart and double check everything. make sure you put everything back where it's supposed to go and have everything tight. if it's not done right you could end up scrapping the engine.

When I first pulled it apart I noticed that it had been ate completely through the plastic. I just didnt think that it would actually rub the belt. timing cover is completely on at the bottom.

i have had this happen on my old 98 accord pully bolt just came loose and it messed up inside the pulley where the key goes. Got a new pulley and i had no more problems. Be sure to use locktite thread locker on the bolt or this will happen again. And if it has rubbed the timing belt change it. Rather be safe than sorry!!!

mine on a 91 accord was like that too. come to find out that my culprit was the bottom pulley (harmonic balancer), the key, and the screw that holds it on too so i had to go to the junkyard and got all my parts for less than a 100$!!!
