what might be wrong with my gas guage? always goes to E when i'm not empty
My gas guage goes to E far before my tank gets empty. It goes to E even after 200 miles when i really can get far more than that out of it. I have never seen the gas light come on, but the furthest i've ever pushed it is about 350 miles and it took about 13 galons of gas to fill it up, but the gas needle was on E for long before that.
What could i do to make my gas needle start reading accurately again?

i believe its the Sending unit you need to change to get it back to normal, but if you know your car + mileage it shouldnt be a problem leaving it the way it is...

ive got the same deal....dont wory about it.....the gas sloshes around in the tank, and so it can be hard for the measurements to be correct....
i hate ONE thing about accords...the fuel storage system....fyi uve got a 17 gallon tank, and the light should come on around 3 gallons left

If you are interested in putting in a genuine Honda part ... then it is #37800-SV4-A01 and it will run you about $109.00

Just a heads up but depending on what year accord you have does it really make sense to put in a "genuine" honda sending unit when the instrument cluster is manufactured by FORD??
Of the two problems my mom's 98 v-6 has had one was the fuel gauge not reading correctly they replaced the sender.. but could it possibly have had something to do with the fact that it was sending to a FORD manufactured gauge?
and the other was the alternator made courtsey of Delphi the fine providers of General Motors alternators.
Two terrible choices by Honda.
