Default What is the Main Relay...?

I'm having very similar problems with my 1998 Accord EX 3.0L V6 as posted here:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/1998-accord-ex-v6-randomly-dying-3049263/

My question is when I look up the "Main Relay Part" do I want the Fuel Pump Relay or the Fuel Injection Relay? Please see my search results below. The part number for the Standard Motor Products is the same but then there is another option for the Fuel Pump Relay that is not listed for the Fuel Injection Relay?

Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated. I want to replace my "Main Relay", what part do I want?

Thanks!!

There are actually two relays inside the main relay module for your car.

http://techauto.awardspace.com/faq.html

It is the same identical part.

Thanks for the reply. Here's a really stupid question then. If I want to replace what you called the "main relay module" I would buy to of the same relays then correct?

And both of these relays would be the Fuel Injection Relay in the image I posted in the first message correct?

Wonder why the AIRTEX/WELLS part #1R1455 is only shown in the Fuel Pump Relay and not in the Fuel Injection Relay if they are the exact same?

No, you only need one. Both the Standard Motor Products and the Airtex/Wells are the same compatible replacement part.

The part has two relays built inside. This other thread shows how it looks inside without the cover:

rock auto seems to stick some items in different categories and the main relay is the most notorious of this...you will probably find it in up to 6 categories under different names but the correct name is just "main relay"..you just need to look at the "alternate part number" to see if they are the same thing

I replaced the main relay yesterday... it was a P.I.T.A but I got it done and so far so good with everything. I wanted to thank tech8 and holmesnmanny for the helpful posts. This site is always very helpful because of members like you. Much appreciated.
