Weird squeak!?

Weird squeak!?
I have a 1990 Honda Accord and I have recently been hearing a weird squeak coming from the front of the vehicle when ever I turn the wheel. I was told that my front end bushings needed replacing by the guy who did my alignment. Could this be the culprit? Whenever I turn the steering wheel I get this loud squeak That drives me crazy.....HELP!! Thanks!

I will suggest that you open the hood, check the condition of the belt (while the engine isn't running) and the tension on it. Check the power steering fluid and make sure it is at the recommended working level. If you need to add fluid, be sure to use Honda P/S fluid only, or at least one that is meant for hondas only.

I think my power steering fluid was low once and I added no name brand. Should I dissconnect the hose, start the car, empty out the old and refill with all honda/acura power steering?

Re: Weird squeak!?
I remember adding a conventional P/S fluid on my CB7 accord and it drained and started to feel funny on the steering wheel.
If you feel like you can drain the fluid without making a mess, go ahead and do that... and just make sure to have a pan or something under it, so that you can dispose the fluid at the proper place (some autoparst stores, and specific places in your city should accept it at no charge to you).

Re: Weird squeak!?
I would check the fluid first just in case that's the problem you don't have to spend some money and if you put no name brand steering fluid i would (if it was me) take it all out and replace it with Honda steering fluid specifically. Also what kind of squeak is it because if it's a loud piercing squeak it could possibly be your front brake pads also check your rotor for grinding marks on the disc itself, this happened to me once I thought it was the alignment too but turned out to be my brakes hope this helps if not then my bad

Re: Weird squeak!?
I went to the mechanic today and he told me the ball joints were not up to par, he also warned me against getting the cheap brand. I will upgrade ASAP, Thanks!!!
