HI to all the masters in HT. I have a 98 accord lx 4 cylinder and the a/c controls on the dash have started to go crazy on and off every ten seconds, turning the ac on and off. Sometimes the controls just do not start at all and only hot air comes form the vents. plzz need help on this one.

Your A/C system sounds like it needs to be recharged. Also I would have your A/C lines checked for leaks. Instead of just recharging and calling it a day.

So, even if the control lights which are in the on position, turn from on to off and make the a/c go off could mean that the system needs to be recharged?. When the system is working , which is only at the first 5 minutes of being turned on, it is cooling great, but then it starts going on and off, even the control lights go on and off with it. I though it could be some electrical component such as a fuse or a relay that gets too hot. I checked the fuse boxes, all three of them and could not find any damaged component, please meed help!!!

is the CONTROL unit going on and off or is the COMPRESSOR cycling?

The control unit should not go on and off even if the compressor is cycling

the compressor works but when the problem occurs the control unit lights go on and off just as they could be turned off. Now I think the compressor gets turned off when this happens too, but the most weird thing is that when the control unit is on the compressor works and the air is cold so that is why I think the system has enough gas and oil but that some electrical component might be getting bad. plzzz help. and thanx for the replies

is the connector tight to the unit? sounds like it is loose or something. if the connector is good get the unit tested and make sure it is receiving constant power

do you now where does the unit get power from??... or is it grounded from ??... plzzz help me!!

It's easy to pull the control unit out and check the connector. Take out the two screws right above the radio and pop it out. It's very possible the connector is loose (Soft set)
