Default Trans filter?

When doing the transmission service on my 5 speed, is there a filter in there that has to be changed? I'm being told two different things.

that i know of manuals dont have them. i have a automatic tranny that went out and i suspect its a clogged filter i had hardly any pressure also i think the converter overheated the special paint it had on was peeling off almost everywhere. i am planing on taking it out and replacing it if there is a replacement if not just clean it.

There is NO filter that needs to be changed.

Drain out the fluid and add 2 quarts of Honda manual transmission fluid. Its about $9 at your local dealer and it will make a world of a difference.

Thanks guys for all of your help. But now it doesn't matter about me doing the trans service myself anymore as now I felt my clutch slip on me while I was going to work this morning. My car is going to the transmission shop for a clutch job on Monday and the guy that is replacing my clutch will also change out the oil for an extra $20.

make sure you get the same transmission back. write down the vin on the tranny and match it later. seen tranny shops rip people off and put other tranny's
