(tool) how much? + air filter box question
Okay, another newbie question. I need a new torque wrench, but all the ones I see at Sears are either like 20 bucks or 70 bucks. What's a decent price to pay for a torque wrench on a 1/2 or 3/8? Which one do you folks use more, 1/2 or 3/8?
Second question: where can I get the screws that hold the air intake box closed? I was changing the air filter on my 95 Accord and one sheared and broke in the middle, leaving the bottom half stuck down in the bottom of the box screw hole. How could I get that sucker out? What could prevent this from happening again, other than me getting a little (lot?) smarter. Thanks!

Re: (tool) how much? + air filter box question (Burtomat)
i use more 1/2 in drive tools but have adapters for all 1/2, 3/8, 1/4
a good craftsmang tq wrench depending on the range your looking for will go anywhere between 60-100bucks, some of the digital ones are much more expensive (of course)
as for the screws, just go to home depot

okay, now how do I get the bottom half of the broken screw out of the bottom of of my air box? I can't put another screw in there until that sucker is out. I don't have to buy a new air box, do I?

Re: (tool) how much? + air filter box question (Burtomat)
#1. What range on ft/lbs does each one have? I think I use my 3/8" more than my 1/2". Find one that has a good range of measure and your good to go.
#2. Ahh yes.....I encounter this all the time at work. What I do is I pull the entire airbox out by taking off the two 10mm bolts that hold it down. (get an extension) Then i snap the heads off the stubborn/stripped bolts and seperate the two halfs. I work at the honda dealer so I get new Bolt/Base combos but if you are ghetto like I was pre-honda days......ZIP TIES!!! Hope I could help.

Re: (tool) how much? + air filter box question (Accord94DX)
I can get the air box out and everything, but the bottom half of the screw (it sheared in the middle) is stuck in the bottom half of the air box. Once the air box is out, can I push the screw out and up from underneath? Right now the Accord is out and about, once it gets back for the night I'll snap a picture if I can.

Correct. You might need to pop it out with a small screwdriver.

I was thinking about just finding a wrecked/salvaged 5th gen and taking the bottom part of the air box and the screws. It'd be easier IMO.
