tie rod ends, all ball joints, front and rear wheel bearing...help please
hey so i just got my 94 accord wagon last night and its in decent condition but needs some work.
my friend recommended "tie rod ends, all ball joints, front and rear wheel bearing" as there are 250,000 miles on the car itself.
i thought about getting this kit off ebay...anybody have experiance with it? or know a better site or place to get all those parts? i prefer oem..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-2014-Accord-9 ... 1d&vxp=mtr
^"8-2014 Accord 94-97 Suspension Total Kit With Rear Upper Control Arm Bushings"
or would this be better?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/KIT-ACURA-CL-HO ... 78&vxp=mtr
^"1997 CONTROL ARMS W BALL JOINTS BUSHINGS RACK ENDS"
thanks in advance

Up front its easier to just buy the whole upper control arm. They run about $45. It includes a new ball joint. Then the wheel bearings are about $54 each side. The lower ball joint is about $20 each side. There is also a lower control arm, which has a bushing that wears out. Plus the tie rod ends.
Take it to a tire and wheel place(That does alignments), they can put it on a lift, and tell you exactly which parts need replacement. Cost you $30 or so for them to look at it.

Re: tie rod ends, all ball joints, front and rear wheel bearing...help please
i deff want the oem parts or whatever is close it bc the kits im finding uses Polyurethane which is more durable and will improve handling and steering response but its a lot stiffer than rubber, which means much worse shock impact and more transmission of noise, correct?
so if anybody has links on the oem or moog parts etc, i want to replace ALL my bushings, bearings, control arms, tie rods etc.
thanks in advance

This is what I did:
Tie rods, lower ball joints: Honda dealership or Hondapartsnow.com or majestic honda
MOOG Upper control arm with ball joint: Rockauto.com
Timken bearings: hubbearing.com
Polyurethane from what I have researched squeak over time. I could be wrong.
You may be able to search the web for a coupon for rockauto for free shipping.

Don't forget your local parts stores like Autozone; I didn't check yet but those parts might have a lifetime warranty through them.
Also, have you actually checked the parts to see if they need replacement? Even though the car has 250K on it, no sense in replacing those parts if the the PO just did them.
I had a guy buy a truck from me and he was all about "baselining" it even though I was regular on the maintenance and had the receipts. Oh well, if he wants to spend $1000 replacing parts I just replaced then go for it.

Been there and done that with Autozone parts, especially Duralast. They have a lifetime warranty on them for a reason: You will be back replacing them throughout the lifetime of the car. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything with rubber on it and Duralast stamped on it. Did that a couple of times with tie rod ends and lower ball joints. They failed within 30,000 miles. Also, the tie rods and lower ball joints from Honda were cheaper than the Autozone parts, give/take a buck or two. On top of that, each time you replace the tie rod ends, you need an alignment. $$$
Very true. Take it to a alignment shop to get a better idea on what needs replacement.

sweet thanks for the info
any thoughts on RAYBESTOS? it says professional grade bearings
same with tie rods, ball joints, control arms etc
and i took it to a shop and basically im better off replacing everything. a buddy of mine is a mechanic so labor isnt too big of a deal. and i might as well just replace it all now and start fresh. the car wasnt taken care of as well as it shoulda been..

Didn't know they make wheel bearings. You can try them out, but they are better known for brake pads. if you search on the forum for wheel bearings, TIMKEN will come out maybe 8 out of 10. If you are looking on Rockauto, Timken is only .80 more...
