Default 1997 Honda Accord F22b2 build help N/A

I'm staying all Honda on this build with no aftermarket parts.

1. I would like to know the best pistons & rods combo that Honda makes for their engines for the highest compression that will work with my F22B2

2. I would like to change out the crank for something stronger for reliability trying to make this car go the distance.

3. If I were to change out the camshaft which camshaft would be an upgrade that would work from my f22b2 will a h22 cam work?

4. What would be the best clutch for this application.

My goal with this engine would be in the 175-190HP range. I live in CA if that make any difference.

I'm new at this sort of stuff if you have any better ideas for me feel free to let me know. All advice is good advice thank you.

Can someone ask Ghostaccord if he could please give his advice seeing he's one of the most experienced guys on this forum. thank you.

F22B2 rods with a K series Piston, will require a cylinder bore and hone out to an 86mm bore. There are no better, higher compression OEM pistons for the F22 (stock 85mm bore).

Not going to find anything stronger than the stock 95mm stroke crank.

If you want to destroke the F22 you could go with an early H22 crank and rods (H22 with 50mm mains). That being said, it is the same quality and reliability between the two.

No, F22 is a single over head cam with no VTEC, while the H22 is dual overhead cams with VTEC.

If you want a bump in performance from a stock Honda cam for the F22, the PT6 camshaft out of the earlier F22A6 would be your best bet. Although you can get a stock cam ground for $300. There are 3 or 4 different camshaft profiles available for the F22. it uses a stock camshaft, it's just reground to change the duration and lift.

Again where you want to stay OEM Honda. You could go with the later 96+ Prelude P5M clutch disc and pressure plate. The flywheels are the same. Honestly though the stock one would handle your goals.
