The car is a 1994 accord coupe. Engine is F22B2 and it's an auto right now. I got this car for my friend when he was in need back in 2010. I bought it back from him for $300 in June 2015 non running. He let the car sit, so I had to replace the fuel pump and a few other things. I started daily driving the car.

Here is how it started

There were some cheap Oz 14inch wheels on it. 1 was bent.

Also, noticed the front wheels pushed back into the fenders? I think someone hit a curb or something.

Valve adjustment time!

Used this thread. Awesome info!
https://honda-tech.com/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/how-adjust-valves-your-f22-2477017/

Went ahead and painted the cover since I had it off. Toredor red.

Also found my exhaust leak Alegent putting it back together. One of the studs was missing from the Manifold. Top right.

Oh wait.... It's broken off in the head! Great!

Extraction time! Drilled a pilot hole in the stud and used a snap-on extraction kit.

I like to Chuck the extractor bits in a drill. Seems to work best for me.

New gasket and stud

My Brake rotors were warped so bad I couldn't stand it so this was my first run in with HUB over ROTORS.... uuuugh! There are plenty of videos on this. I let everything soak with some kroil for a whole day before breaking anything down.

Sorry not many pics of that job.

I had some used moog upper a-arms laying around so I put them on

New rotors. I also found my Brake fluid leak, broke hose had a pin hole. But the bolt broke off in the caliper which then had to be replaced....

Maybe I'll use the engine for a build up

Stripping it down. Going to use the sub frame and compile the complete 5 speed swap.

Got the 97 front end swapped on, and also swapped the crossmember, and lower control arms. I took a bunch of measurements on the lift and found those to be the parts that were bent up. I couldn't put on the coilovers until I got the wheels were they needed to be. Also snagged some 99 infiniti G20 wheels. I like the look of Oem wheels and these are the coolest. 4x114.3 wheels I could think of. Also they are 15's. Which is much easier to find performance based tires in. I was running 185/70/14 on the Oz wheels. Now I've got 195/60/15's

I can still go 1inch lower up front and 2inches lower in the rear. But I like it where it is. The rear also sits a little right right now because there are some 195/65/15's back there. I cannot belive how amazing this suspension is. No wonder the msrp was $1300

Decided to re route the coolest lines to bypass the intake system. The lines go through the idle air control valve so idk how it will run after. Here I have circled the connections i removed. Thermostat housing, right of TB under throttle plate cam, left of TB, and 2 at the back if the Manifold on the IACV.

the 5th spot is where I connected the new hose. Under the car you can see it T off from a main pipe.

Piece of coolant rated hose and routed from the fitting under the car, to the fitting on the thermostat housing.

Let's see what happens!

Well I don't know if this will work. My car won't idle down, and when it's fully warmed up, it goes up and down like the iacv is bad. Maybe I can just bypass the tb and leave the idle control valve hooked to the coolant lines.

Figured out how to make the coolant bypass work! Must make a block off gasket for the thermostat block on the bottom of the throttle body! If you dont make a gasket, you will get bad idle because there is a thermostat inside the coolant block that the lines run through. When the TB coolant lines are bypassed, it makes the thermostat stay open (routing air from in front of the TB the the Manifold) . This is great when the car is Cold, but not great when the engine warms up. Since there is no coolant the operate the thermostat, it stays open causing high idle. Here are some pictures. You can see the coolant block and the gasket that I made out if high-tech exhaust gasket

Just put in a sn95 Mustang Gt fuel pump. I had one laying around. It's 115 lph vs stock 80lph. Doesn't make a difference until I up my injectors and get a tune.

Just an FYI, That is the Fast Idle Thermo valve (FIT) that you are making a block off plate for. Not 100% but I think there are block off plates available so you can remove the FIT housing all together. I made one out of aluminum plate I had laying around. Really easy and cheap mod.

https://honda-tech.com/honda-accord-.../#post36545141 delete.

The FITV does have a thermostatic valve inside it that is temperature operated. So when the engine coolant is cold it is wide open, hence the name fast idle thermostatic valve. if you remove the coolant lines it will remain open as long as it stays cold.

Great build so far!

Like the mustang fuel pump upgrade. Never thought of that.

As far as installing larger injectors and tuning goes. unless you are planning on increasing the displacement of the engine or going with a turbo build. There is no benefit to going larger and tuning. I had lots of bolt on mods, installed larger injectors and by the time I was done tuning they were running at just slightly higher capacity to what my stock ones were running at. I wasted a lot of time and money.

Look forward to more of your input to this forum. This sort of detailed build has been missing from here for a few years.

Have any questions don't hesitate to ask! There are still a few OG's around that have done a lot of this stuff before.

Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely going to make a block off plate soon.

Eventually I'll turbo this thing. Not for a while though. I think The stock injectors should stand up to any kind of bolt on parts since they are 230cc.

Looking for an f23 Manifold now. Also looking at building up the engine from that parts car I bought. Not sure which route I want to go on that one. Needs a bottom end

Plasti-dipped the G20 wheels. This was supposed to be bronze but turned out gold. It's ok I guess.

Also rolling on some new rubber. Went with Sumic GT 60 A
195/16R15

I went with the smaller size for 2 reasons. More suspension travel being lowered, and the gearing is a little better for acceleration. Im about 5mph slower than the speedo at 65mph. I ran Oem size, and oversized also. I like the 195/65 the best so far

Okay 1st lemme just say I'm sorry for not being more active here and for not realizing you had a build thread going. With that said, I'M SO JEALOUS RIGHT NOW!!! You're a lucky sob Gage!!! Those coilovers were practically BRAND NEW still!!! Smh.... I'm speechless. lol! Seriously though bro, what a great pick up! Also, I have to agree with Ghost this build log is phenomenal man! I wish I had done more pic taking and actually kept track of a lot of the other things I did, the way you have. This is great stuff, I'm definitely going to subscribe, and of course if there's any way in which I can help just lmk man! What else?..what else?... Oh! Hub over rotor! Good times, huh? Lmao! I still don't know why I didn't convert while I had the chance? I don't necessarily want to go 5-lug but I certainly don't EVER want to deal with that again!? I don't question nor complain often about Honda engineering but THAT was the STUPIDEST engineering decision I think they've ever made!? What a PITA that job was. And I'm just curious why you opted to remove the FITV? I didn't know much about it until I encountered it during my build, but with the Omnipower TB I bought there was literally no way to connect it even if I wanted to!? So it was then that I had to quickly get acquainted with it and realized that it wasn't completely necessary. But my question to you is; is there an advantage to removing it? Lmk? And again great build so far, love what you're doing, keep up the good work!

Haha yeah man I could not believe my luck when I saw those coilovers. I assumed it had some eBay crap when the guy said it was on coilovers, and I saw the Condition of the car. These things right amazing at any height.

The only advantage to removing the FITV is keeping the TB cooler. Living on Texas, I don't need it. If you live somewhere really cold, I could see it being useful.

I'm going to grab some hubs, rotors, and while bearings from a newer model accord and swap this car to rotor over hub for sure. Not now, but some time it's a pretty easy swap

Speaking of 5 lug Conversion...... I have some 85 Vette wheels laying around in my shop. I may do something silly with them...

Quick ? Ya think my Accord rims will fit on my G20?
Not sure about the hub center.
If my stock G20 rims werent bent up, I would use em'.
