I have seen the other posts on srs light resets under the accord section but have seen nothing for the 4th gen Accord. My light is on and I would like to reset it to see if that solves the problem. I have seen the yellow connector on the front of my fuse box. and seen the instructions for attempting a reset of 5th and 6th gen. If it is the same, the only questions I have about those instruction are "should I unplug the connector from the fuse box when I'm attempting the reset, and I have seen some say dont use jumper/paper clip and others say it worked for them using a paperclip." What method works, I would like to not pop off my airbag.

the srs light came on fora reason most likley a failed srs control unit or open reel cable have it checked out.

Thats prob the next step. I wanted to try a reset since that worked for many others and I'm not sure why the light is on since it was on when i bought it.

You can check the code by jumping the service check connector. You'll have to dig up the procedure to clear the light using the mes connector.

1993 has no resest procedure if there is no problem light will be out most 1993 that come into the shop need the drivers air bag and cable reel..............

they have no self diag or trouble codes it wasnt an opp. unit the 1994 accord which doesnt make sense do the fact that civics had self diag in 1992

any clue what that would cost me to have it done at a shop? and with it the way it is now will the airbag not deploy in an accident? also is the service beyond a handymans capabilities? thanks for the responses!

My car was in an accident with the previous owner
My light is also on but not always
sometimes it goes on and sometimes it stays off
sometimes it goes on when I make turns

I just gave up on it.....not a problem here
