squeaky sound from rear brake (honda accord 2000)
Hi,
I have squeaky sound coming from my rear wheel whenever I step on brake. I'm guessing it's because the brake pads are due to be replaced. I am thinking of replacing them myself. I don't have much experience in fixing car except changing battery, spark plugs, engine oil. I have a few questions and wish people here can provide me with some advice.
1) Is changing brake pads difficult? Shall I bring my car to a mechanics or shall I do it myself?
2) What kind of tool do I need to do the brake work? I have jack, wrenches, ratchet. Do I have to buy other things, like brake cleaner and others? An online article also mentioned that you need to reset the caliper using a reset tool before attaching the new pads. Is that reset tool absolutely necessary and how expensive it is?
3) How do I know if I also need to replace the break rotor?
I would appreciate if somebody can give me some advice. thanks.

Changing brake pads is a pretty easy process IMO. The first time will be kinda weird, but pretty easy.
The tool looks something like this...
You hook it up to your rachet and turn clockwise (tighten) as you screw the caliper back down.
Another piece of advise i would give you, the piston on the caliper has a + shape to it. And there's like a pin (more of a bump) on the brake pad. Tighten the piston screw down and make sure you can side the grooves on the + over the pin. Sorry, if this doesnt make sense.
Don't forget to release the handbrake. =P Otherwise you won't be able to take it off =P
