speedometer only works sometimes?
whats up, i have a 94 accord ex with 92k miles. in the past 2 months, my speedometer has only been working every once in a while. ill start driving and it wont work and then out of nowhere it will pop up at the right speed...work for a while and randomly fly back to 0. or it might work when i start driving, then stop working, etc etc. its completely random, i dont see any kind of pattern and i cant figure it out. anyone have any ideas?

its not the indiglo's, which cable and relays? i doubt its a fuse or relay because everything else works fine, and the speedometer does work maybe like 40% of the time that im driving.

i dunno i still think its the indiglos...i know ppl who have them and their gauges dont work quite well...and they have the installed at a shop...

My 96 ex did the same thing with 40k on it until it didnt work at all and had to be replaced. It had no mods made to it at all.

Could be a problem with one of the sensor rings on your axle. Do I know what I'm talking about here? Maybe.

Check the body ground wires and ground for you batt. The speedo is the first thing to show a loose or dirty ground even if your lights look good. The starter uses a different ground so you would not know it unless you had a starting problem.

it's most likely the ground that connects your speedometer, blinkers and lights.
The ground bolt is located on the drivers side, behind the corner lights. Its a clear plastic box the has all of the gounds in it. When the connection goes bad, the speedometer will find other means of ground. You may notice that at night, your speedometer hardly works. Clean and tighten this bolt. Hope this helps

hmm...i dont have a clear plastic box there. take a look: 
that white/clearish one is brake fluid for ABS i think.

Actually guys, Honda uses a senging unit attatched to the tranny. Three years ago, I had a 90 EX do the same thing. When I replaced the tranny because it was shot, I noticed the sending unit on the housing. The thing had stripped the gears on the end. I had one on the new tranny and I was fine afterwards. I had a hard time explaining that to my dad 
. One thing my friends had problems with is Nitrous+Honda Automatic=Snap Crackle Pop. I guess it is auto since no clutch master cylinder is seen. Just be careful cause Honda used a weak tranny for the Accord, and you will want to not use nitrous.

my car is back to stock now, im selling it for an integra gsr. i only shot nitrous like 5 times and had no problems.
