Slow, screaking windows? SOLVED!
My drivers side power window has been really sucking as of late, made worse by the hot weather. Sometimes, it wouldnt even come down at all. After taking apart my entire door, and lubing everything I could, including the tracks, rails, sills, etc., I saw little to no improvement. Being frustrated and bored at the same time, I pulled my window up and put ARMOR ALL TIRE SHINE on the edge of the boarders of the window and into the sills and weather stripping. Aparently, they were dry, and had sand and dirt in them. The Armor All moisturized the rubber and there is no more rubbing, screaking, or noise at all, and it is much faster.

really? i was about to replace my motor. wouldnt that make the rubber have to use the armor all though? to where you have to regularly put armor all on it or it will crack?

I think I might know another thing that contributes to slow rolling windows. If you guys look along the window above/behind the interior door trim, do u guys see the rubber piece that is against the window?
In my 5th gen it has a chrome lining behind it... that piece on my car isn't securely attached to the interior door trim, so when i roll down the window, the rubber sticks to the window glass and adds friction and slows it from rolling down smoothly.
I will be tryign to yank the door trim apart to glue the piece back together w/ the door trim, ill let you guys know if it helps.

funny you posted this thread..... i was gonna post the same. i have a 5th gen wagon and i had the same problem >> as does my wifes crv. i was at the hona dealer the other day when out of the corner of my eye i saw a technician lubing up the rubber with SILICONE SPRAY. i asked him if that was the best thing to use and he said yes because its like adding rubber to rubber but slipperier.
point is that i went out and ivested 3.49 on a can of this stuff and it worked like a friggin charm. do yourselves a favor and buy this stuff. its amazing >> like nite and day

This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. That is the rubber piece that seems to have dried out.

I think mine is still attached, but I am under the assumption that the rubber weather stripping should be flush with the window to prevent moisture from seaping in. If you glue it back toward the chrome, you might leave a gap and rust your rails, fry your electronics, etc.
