Default Am I doing something wrong, or being a complete idiot? Evo Injectors

I'm running a pair of Evo 560cc pink-top injectors on my new turbo setup (boost tube disconnected due to no tune). I'm running the OEM resistor box that came stock on my Accord as I am fairly sure these are low impedance injectors, I would double check but I have them already plugged in. From my research it shows that they are low impedance, but I am uncertain if the Honda box matters over the Mitsubishi one.

I started my car with both the OEM P0A ECU and a chipped P28 ECU on a 400cc/stock compression/bolt-ons H22 MAP and neither of them allowed my car to idle.

Will my car even idle with these injectors running on a stock/somewhat stock ECU/MAP? Or am I just being a **** and need to get it tuned to have it run period? I wasn't looking forward to having to swap out my injectors at the performance shop parking lot.

All you gotta do is measure the ohms across the injector pins to find out if you need the resistor box or deleted. 5 ohms or so is yes you need resistor...10 or so more and you need to delete it

you can damage your ecu in no short time with it wrong

No your car will not idle with 560cc injectors running off 240/400cc fuel maps. You nee to get yourself a 560cc/H22 basemap for that P28 or take it to a tuner. I would take it to a tuner if you're not sure.

It will be tuned for sure, I was just hoping I could drive it TO the performance shop with them in. Knew you would chime in. lol I only have a general idea of how crome works, I wasn't sure if the injector map had to be exact or similar. Thanks for that.

I'll have to remove them, install my OEM injectors again, and install the 560's at the shop before the dyno run/tune. With searches I've done for them it seems to be the general consensus that they are high impedance as many people have to wire resistor boxes in with them. I was just curious if it mattered between the Honda or Mitsubishi resistor units. The Accord I have (94 EX VTEC) had HI injectors equipped stock along with the box, so I ASSUME I should be fine. Right? Is there a difference?

I think you have the impedance mixed up. Stock Accord injectors are low impedance (peak and hold) and use a resistor box. The EVO 560cc pink/red injectors are also low impedance. The stock Honda Accord resistor box is the same resistance as the Mitsu resistor box so you will have no issues using it.

High impedance (saturated) injectors do not use a resistor box.

The Mitsu injectors will run fine with the stock resistor box.

The issue is the tune; so you have basically 3 options:

1) if you have a h22a basemap in crome you need to change the injector size to 560cc, which will redo the fuel trim for the entire map. The car should then idle and run, at least.

2) If you arent comfortable with doing that, reinstall the stock injectors and add the evo ones at the shop.

3) If you ask someone nicely on pgmfi.org, they may have a 560cc base map or may be willing to create one for you.

If you have a chip burner I can send you a 560cc H22 basemap.

I just assumed that if you had Crome and a chip burner that you would have already tried changing the injectors flow rate and battery offset to adjust the overall fuel trim yourself.

I have Crome installed, but I don't have a clue on how to use it (I've been reading a few threads and such to learn something) and I don't have a chip burner. I just swapped my 240's in for the meantime till I can drive down there and get it tuned. I'm sure I haven't been the only one to fiddle with my their car in the parking lot. lol

Yes, I did have the impedance mixed up. For the amount of research I did (As you've assisted me with before Ghost) I'm surprised I messed that up. Woops.

And I would say that is probably your best option. No need in screwing things up before you get to the tuner. I have changed injectors pre tune before. Not a big deal as long as you get them in and leak free before you get on the rollers.

Honest mistake! It happens to the rest of us as well.
